How GrantMe uses AI
AI helps your team draft grant applications faster. It never replaces your judgement. This page sets out what it does, what it can't do, and the controls around it.
What the AI does
- Drafts grant application text tailored to each grant's criteria.
- Suggests improvements based on what assessors look for.
- Helps match grants to your school's profile.
- Reads school planning documents you choose to upload (such as a School Improvement Plan or Annual Report) to suggest content for your school's profile. You review and approve every suggestion before anything is saved.
What the AI never does
- It never submits anything. A person reviews and approves every word.
- It never makes decisions about your school.
- It never sees student data, because there is none in GrantMe.
- It never trains on your data. Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using customer data for model training.
A person always reviews it
- Every AI draft is a starting point that staff can edit, approve or discard.
- AI use is agreed when your school signs up, and a school administrator can switch it off at any time in Settings.
- Nothing changes in your account without a person doing it.
Where and how it runs
- AI processing happens in Australia (the AWS Sydney region).
- The AI sees your school's profile, the project details your staff write, the text of any planning documents you upload, and the application drafts it is helping you write. It never sees student information, and never personal details about individuals.
- Every AI interaction is logged for audit and quality review.
If something looks wrong
- Every AI output can be reported in-product via the “Report AI Issue” button, or at ai [at] grantme.au.
- Reports are acknowledged within 1 business day.
- Systemic issues lead to the feature being disabled while we investigate.
- We review AI performance and fairness on a quarterly cycle.
